The MarketWatch consortium, with input from specialist, accredited laboratories has developed a suite of ‘check’ test methods for energy-using products.
These methods enable determination of the likelihood that a product may fail a fully-fledged compliance test at a lower cost compared to carrying out full market surveillance testing (as detailed in the relevant regulation) in the first instance.
Whilst testing against these methods does not provide a legal basis for declaring a product non-compliant against Ecodesign or Energy Labelling requirements, they are an essential part of MarketWatch’s test programme, providing intelligence for the full compliance tests we will carry out in the last year of the project.
The project encourages any other interested party, from consumer testing organisations to appointed Market Surveillance Authorities to make use of these methods as part of any testing programmes they may carry out.
Please contact the project team if you would like any further information.
